What is a Duplex Home?§
A duplex is a distinctive housing structure where a single building comprises two separate single-family homes. This setup is unique compared to a townhouse, which typically shares walls with more than one adjacent unit, or a standalone house, which has no common walls with another residence.

Duplexes can be configured in different ways to suit diverse living preferences and spatial constraints. Some have an upstairs and downstairs unit layout, providing separate living spaces on different floors. Others are divided side by side, allowing each unit to have its own front entrance and often mirroring floor plans.
